Mitfloc 5385L represents a very versatile product in the "Duo-floc" series of blended organic/inorganic coagulants designed for single drum convenient dispensing. The product contains an aluminum salt for initiation of primary nucleation and absorption in combination with a very high molecular weight, high charge density, cationic polyelectrolyte intended to increase particle agglomeration. "Duo-floc" products are especially suitable for difficult wastewater applications that include heavy organic contamination, oil residue, ceramic/porcelain suspension or excessively high solids separation rates as are found in undersized treatment systems. When used properly, it will generate a less voluminous, more stable floc and sludge than most inorganic coagulants.
